The History of
Summit Management
Summit Management owns and operates several properties throughout the state of Minnesota. From luxury apartments to manufactured home communities, our focus is on providing residents with great housing. Our company was officially started in 1993. Today, we own and operate 11 apartment communities, 10 mobile home communities, 1 resort, and several commercial properties across Minnesota. There are no plans to slow down any time soon. This past year, we celebrated 30 years in business & we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next 30!
1979
The Beginning
We want to introduce you to our owner, Mark Lambert. Mark purchased his first rental property on June 1st, 1979. This was a mobile home rental on 5 acres of land near St. Cloud, MN. Mark describes this time as his "entrepreneurial spirit entering the business world.” Stay tuned to see where he took Summit Management!

1984
Riverview Park
On August 1st, 1984, Mark purchased Riverview Park at the age of 21. At this time, he already owned 13 mobile homes and thought it would be smart to own the land. This symbolized moving in the right direction for future plans and ideas.
1989
Park Ridge Apartments
Summit Management acquired this building in 1989. It is a quaint 18 home community, that has been completely remodeled in 2024 with brand new interiors to bring new life to the area. Park Ridge is right next to Riverview Park Community so this acquisition was an easy decision for Mark.

1993
The Name
Mark’s ultimate vision was to create a management company that was professional, employee friendly, and focused on building nice homes for our residents. Creating the name to encompass all of this was a challenge. Mark wanted it to be “easily recognizable and uplifting.” After a bit of brainstorming, he landed on what we all know today as Summit Management.
1997
Campus Park St. Joseph
We want to take a moment to appreciate Campus Park St. Joseph today. This was Mark’s first whole community development (1993). This project was approved in 1989, but it took 4 years to find a lender that would finance a new startup developer before opening in 1997. Campus Park St. Joseph was the only property to date that Mark has sold. It went on to inspire Campus Park Duluth, which opened in 2003.

1999
Connelly Community
The second manufactured home community purchased by Mark. It is located in Lakeville, Minnesota. This community features 60 homesites. This was the next milestone in the growth of Summit Management.
2000
St. Joseph Mobile Home Community
Let’s go back to our starting origin of Summit Management, the western part of Minnesota, neighboring St. Cloud is St. Joseph Minnesota where the newest community is located. St. Joseph Mobile Home Community has 58 homesites and was acquired in September of 2000.

2002
Baldwin Lake Estates
The fourth manufactured home community acquired by Summit Management. Expanding into the north suburbs of the Twin Cities in this prime location. Baldwin Lake Estates has 94 homesites.
2003
Boulder Ridge Apartment Homes
What will become a trademark building and name for Summit Management. Boulder Ridge St. Joseph started construction in 2003 and was complete in 2004 after purchasing the land in 2001 and working on the development planning of the site. Boulder Ridge St. Joseph has 44 homes in the building.

Campus Park Townhomes & Villas
Mark wanted to expand the company by opening up a building for the college city that is Duluth, MN. With CSS, UMD, and UWS all close by, Mark thought it would be great to allow college students a compromise between the strict dorm life and the unpredictability of the rental housing market. Campus Park had its grand opening in 2003 and is housing over 500 students to this day. It is known for its 10-month leases to accommodate school schedules, modern apartments recently renovated, and various amenities to escape from the stress of school.
2005
Hastings Terrace Community
The fifth manufactured housing community purchased by Summit Management, located in historic Hastings, Minnesota. Hastings Terrace is the first community of mixed RV’s and manufactured homes. The community was recently expanded to have 12 motor coach upgraded homesites, bringing the community up to 80 homesites.

Sand Lake Resort
A unique acquisition for Mark was the Resort in 2005. A location near his own family cabin that made the location convenient to purchase. Mark watched the resort from afar and when it went up for sale and knew that the potential in the location and industry in Northern Minnesota was worth investing in. Sand Lake Resort has grown in the years since Summit Management took over in terms of rental cabins and is now looking to remodel the site into a luxury condominium style resort on Sturgeon Lake.
2006
Boulder Ridge Luxury Apartments
Following the successful opening of Campus Park in Duluth, MN, Mark knew more housing was in order! Boulder and Summit Ridge are a short .5-mile drive from Campus Park and features many amenities.
Along with the building of Boulder Ridge and Summit Ridge, Summit Management decided to also build a “Clubhouse,” including offices for our leasing staff and plenty of amenities for the residents to enjoy! The Clubhouse includes an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness room, tanning beds, coffee bar, business center, game room, and study/work from home area. This was huge for our company and Duluth in general, as amenities like these weren’t as prominent in the industry until we came along.

These properties went on to become homes for families, working professionals, college students, and more! Truly apartments made for EVERYONE.
Boulder and Summit Ridge have improved over the years by adding more apartment buildings to cater to the housing market, a free shuttle service to campus for the college students living on-site, outdoor grilling & fire pit areas to add to the already long list of amenities, and more! There is a true sense of community at this location, and that is something Summit is very proud to have created.
2007
Woodlund Park Community
The sixth manufactured home community acquired by Summit Management and the largest to date with 134 home sites. Purchasing Woodlund Park expanded Summit’s territory by moving into Forest Lake, Minnesota where we will continue to add more housing to the area in future years.

Moving into Owatonna Minnesota is where our next manufactured home community was purchased. This community features 98 homesites and is located the furthest south in our territory of properties.
